Harcourt Collection.
Defined by Craft.

Built by people who know the industry from the inside out — designers, makers, and merchants who spent decades working with the finest rug houses in the world before building one of their own.

The Founders

Decades in the field, brought to one bench.

Rick Zolt

Rick Zolt

Co-Founder

Rick spent his career at the top of the industry — first at Stark Carpet, then at J.D. Staron — building the product knowledge and supplier relationships that define Harcourt's offering today.

Judy Zolt

Judy Zolt

Co-Founder

Judy brings 25 years of trade experience from The Designer Referral Service and J.D. Staron, where she built lasting relationships with the designers and showrooms that define the high-end market.

Together, they founded Harcourt to deliver what the industry rarely offers in one place: deep expertise, direct access to exceptional product, and service that treats every client — whether a single boutique or a national showroom — as a long-term partner.

The Collection

Every piece earns its place in a room.

The Harcourt Collection is built around two paths: a deep inventory of ready-to-ship rugs available for immediate fulfillment through our QuickShip program, and a made-to-order pipeline — including fully bespoke commissions — that puts custom size, color, and construction within reach of any serious buyer.

We serve independent rug stores, design showrooms, and trade professionals who know quality and won't compromise on it — whether they're stocking a floor or sourcing a single centerpiece for a client.

The Black Label Program

When the standard won't do.

The Black Label Program is Harcourt's signature custom initiative — a curated path for buyers who require something the open market simply cannot provide. Working directly with a select group of specialized mills, we engineer rugs to exact specification: custom size, custom color, custom construction, built to a standard that off-the-shelf product cannot meet.

Every Black Label commission begins with a direct conversation. Timeline, lead time, and pricing are structured around the project, not a catalog. For designers and showrooms who work at the highest level, this is the program that makes the impossible deliverable.

Our Mission

Quality, refined continually.

Our mission is straightforward: to source, curate, and deliver rugs that meet an uncompromising standard of quality — and to keep raising that standard. We work exclusively with mills and artisans who share that commitment, refining our selection with every season so that what reaches our clients is always the best available, not simply the most available.

That standard extends beyond the product itself. Sustainable practices, honest lead times, and transparent pricing are not features we offer — they are expectations we hold ourselves to. Every order, every question, every custom commission is handled with the same care we put into selecting what we carry. Quality isn't something we apply to the rug. It's something we apply to everything.

Quality & Craftsmanship

Made by hands that have done it for generations.

Every piece in the Harcourt Collection is produced through techniques refined over generations — hand-knotted constructions from India and Nepal where artisans work at the loom for months to complete a single rug, and precision broadloom woven on equipment calibrated to tolerances most mills won't attempt. We source only the finest materials: hand-spun wool, Tibetan highland fleece, and New Zealand yarn selected for durability as much as handle. Our factory partners are chosen not for price but for what they are capable of — and we maintain those relationships closely, because the standard we sell depends on it.

Every room is a work of art. The floor is where it begins.
